Although I’d spent a good few years playing around with instagram I never really ‘got’ it. Obviously it’s a huge platform and one that people love, but I’d never found myself to be utterly convinced. Until a few months ago when, in a bid to increase my blog reach, I started trying to do it a bit seriously.
While I’m pleased with how my stats on the site are increasing and the extra coverage it’s providing me with, the real joy for me has been with becoming part of a real community of ‘grammers in the Tropical North Queensland region.
I’ve spoken before about some of the local accounts that I love the most, and so when the idea of an instameet was first proposed I’m afraid I was rather insistent that someone make that happen. Happily the awesome team at TTNQ didn’t mind too much and so yesterday I spent a brilliant couple of hours putting faces to usernames and chatting all things photography and TNQ.
Seeing as how I’ve got the whole Instagram thing down pat now (701 followers now, I’m basically Kim K) I thought I’d better start giving another social media platform a go. So, here is my first ever attempt at a ‘Vlog’. I hope you like close up shots of my face, because there are plenty of those here.
Thank you to everyone I met yesterday, I’m already counting down to when we can next do it again!
